ADEPTI TRAINING: ALAYANDE VARSITY VC, 'LANRE OLANIYAN CHARGES PARTICIPANTS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT

The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has charged participants at the recently concluded Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI) Training Workshop to take advantage offered by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) through the Digital Bridge Institute in keying in into the use of Information Technology (IT) for optimal service delivery. He lauded the organiser for bringing the training down to Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, promising that the University staff were very delighted to have the opportunity.

In his remarks, the Team Leader, Mr. Akeem Musari conveyed greetings of the President/CEO, Digital Bridge Institute, Mr. David Daser. He stated that the Digital Bridge Institute was established by the Nigerian Communications Commissions (NCC) in May 2004 as an acknowledgement of the need to foster the rapid development and growth of the Nigerian Telecommunication marketplace, as well mitigate significant vulnerability that shortage of human resources could pose. "I assure you all that at the end of this training, you shall never remain the same again as courses to be taken are Digital Skills, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies (DISCET) and Statistical Package, SPSS. Thank you, Mr. Vice-Chancellor, Management Team and our esteemed selected 100 participants", he submitted.

Earlier, the Director, ICT/MIS, Dr. Omolara O. Adeboye expressed a deep appreciation to the University Management under the leadership of Professor Olaniyan for creating an enabling environment for staffers to thrive. She specially singled out Mr. Soji Ezekiel of the NCC for his unflinching support aimed at ensuring that the programme saw the light of the day. "I urge my dear colleagues who are beneficiaries of the ADEPTI programme to make the best use of it", stated the Ibadan-born Chemist.

The DBI has on its team Mr. Akeem Musari as the Team Leader, Mr. Bayo Olanrewaju and Mr. Popoola.
