The Faculty of Social Science Education at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, is dedicated to the study and teaching of disciplines that explore human society, institutions, and development. The Faculty plays a crucial role in preparing educators who are equipped to foster critical thinking, civic awareness, and social responsibility among learners.

Programmes within the Faculty include Economics Education, Geography Education, Political Science Education, and Social Studies Education. These programmes are designed to provide students with a deep understanding of social systems, governance structures, and socio-economic processes, while also equipping them with the pedagogical skills required for effective classroom delivery.

The Faculty emphasises the relevance of social sciences to national development, particularly in areas such as governance, policy, environmental sustainability, and economic transformation. Through its curriculum and research activities, it encourages students to engage with contemporary societal challenges and to develop solutions that are contextually grounded in the Nigerian experience.

A strong culture of scholarship underpins the Faculty’s activities. Professor E. O.
