NUC accredits 49 programmes at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, 43 get full status*

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted accreditation to all 49 academic programmes presented by Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, with forty three (43) receiving full accreditation and six (6) earning interim status.
In a release made available by the Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, quoting the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan, "the National University Commission communicated the body’s position via a letter reference no NUC/ES/412/Vol.14/323 dated 7 April 2026 addressed to His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, a copy of which was sent to Vice-Chancellor. Recall that the NUC conducted an accreditation exercise in the University in November, 2025".
According to the VC, the development underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and adherence to national standards.
“We presented 49 programmes for accreditation and all of them were successfully accredited. Forty-three programmes have full accreditation, while six have interim accreditation,†he said.
Olaniyan added that the university, which commenced academic activities on August 9, 2023, has recorded rapid growth, with students already in their 300 level and a total enrolment of 8,679 across its programmes.
By this development, all the (49) academic programmes floated by the University have officially received the blessing of NUC to run for five solid years unabated. With NUC approval for 49 full-time undergraduate programmes, the university stands as a hub of excellence, innovation, and purpose-driven teacher education.
From science to arts, technology to social sciences, and education to professional studies, the approved programmes reflect a vibrant academic ecosystem built for impact, relevance, and future leadership. This milestone confirms the university’s readiness to deliver quality education that meets national standards and prepares graduates for excellence in a rapidly changing world.
