ALAYANDE VARSITY VICE-CHANCELLOR, LANRE OLANIYAN FELICITATES PROF. OLALEKAN OJEDOKUN ON HIS ELECTION AS SOSAN NATIONAL PRESIDENT
The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has received with great joy the news of the emergence of the Dean, Faculty of Social Science Education, Professor Elijah Olalekan Ojedokun as the National President of the Social Studies Educationists Association of Nigeria (SOSAN). He was elected at the 42nd National Conference of the Association held at the University of Ilorin between 11-14 August 2026.
In his remarks after receiving the news, Professor Olaniyan described the victory as a victory for Emmanuel Alayande University of Education. "Our own Dean of Faculty of Social Science Education, Prof. Olalekan Ojedokun, fss, is now the National President, Social Studies Educationists Association of Nigeria (SOSAN). This is great and marvellous in our eyes. God will assist him as he leads the association. Amen". He further stated that "as an institution, we shall be ready to partner with the new National President and the Association in the area of research, among others".
Prof. Olalekan Elijah OJEDOKUN, fss, Professor of Social Studies and Sustainability Education, has been in the academia since August 1998, teaching and conducting individual and group research and performing community services. He has well over 50 publications in reputable and indexed (including Scopus) academic journals. He is well cited in Google scholar, the Academia and Research Gates. Prof Ojedokun has passion for teaching, and hence has published articles on teaching and general pedagogy, especially in the area of Social Studies and Sustainability Education. He is very versatile in testing, measurements and evaluation of educational outcomes and programme evaluation. He has clear understanding of environmental and sustainability matters. Prof. Ojedokun is a trained publisher and a copyright expert. He is an experienced editor of four academic journals of repute. He has been the National Editor of the Social Studies Educationists Association of Nigeria for 15 years before his emergence as the Association's National President on the 13th Day of August, 2026.
Professor Olalekan Elijah OJEDOKUN has paid educational visits to some countries of Africa and Europe. He enjoys the company of people, gives attention to people and do official assignments with all sense of response -ability.
He has held positions of responsibilities in the past, among which are Secretary, Ifelodun Ago-Are Parapo (Diaspora), Secretary, Obafemi Awolowo Free Education Order, Postgraduate Degree Coordinator and Director, of the Institute of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria. He is currently the Dean, Faculty of Social Science Education, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Nigeria. He is an academic mentor par excellence, with a cohort of postgraduate students under his tutelage.
Prof Olalekan Elijah OJEDOKUN fss, an alumnus of St. Andrew's College of Education, Oyo, (now Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, is a seasoned conference organiser, a public examination monitor, external examiner to many tertiary institutions and a prolific writer. He is a teacher of research methods and an experienced data analyst. He is equally a copy-editor. Prof Ojedokun has listening hears and passionate about the development of others. He loves research grouping and collaboration.
He loves corporate teaching and willing to do knowledge exchange where possible. He is always very time conscious. He is a husband and a father of male and female children.
