The Directorate of Campus Security at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, is responsible for safeguarding the lives and property within the university community. It leads and manages the campus security unit, develops security policies and emergency protocols, and coordinates with law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The directorate also oversees the training and supervision of security personnel while ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Among its notable contributions are the enhancement of surveillance infrastructure and patrol systems, the establishment of a reliable incident reporting and response mechanism, the organization of regular security drills and awareness campaigns, and strengthened partnerships with police and other security agencies.

The current and Pioneer of this directorate is Dr. Adebayo Salako a dedicated security professional and community safety advocate currently serving as the Director of Campus Security at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo (EAUED).

Since the institution's upgrade to a university, the security apparatus has been modernized to meet the needs of a larger academic community.

1. Leadership

The pioneer Director of Campus Security is Dr. Adebayo Salako. He is described as a dedicated security professional and community safety advocate. Under his leadership, the directorate acts as the link between the university administration and external law enforcement agencies.

2. Core Responsibilities

The directorate operates 24/7 to ensure a stable environment for learning. Its main duties include:

  • Asset Protection: Safeguarding university buildings, laboratories, and expensive infrastructure from theft or vandalism.

  • Surveillance & Patrol: Managing foot and vehicular patrols across the Erelu campus to monitor suspicious activities.

  • Intelligence & Coordination: Working closely with the Nigeria Police Force, civil defense (NSCDC), and local intelligence to prevent crime or external threats.

  • Incident Response: Handling emergencies, including medical crises, fire outbreaks (in coordination with fire services), and student conflicts.

  • Drills & Awareness: Organizing regular security briefings and drills to educate the university community on safety protocols and emergency exits.

3. Key Services

The Directorate often handles the following administrative security tasks:

  • ID Card Verification: Ensuring that only authorized persons have access to specific university facilities.

  • Traffic Management: Controlling vehicle flow and parking within the campus to prevent congestion and accidents.

  • Event Security: Providing specialized security coverage for matriculations, convocations, and student union activities.
