The University Bookshop oversees the procurement and distribution of academic materials, ensuring that students and faculty have access to necessary resources. The University Bookshop is also responsibilities include liaising with publishers, managing inventory, and implementing policies that align with the university's academic goals. 

The current and Pioneer of this directorate is Dr. Isiaka Adetokunbo Adedeji a seasoned academic and administrator, currently serving as the Pioneer Director of the University Bookshop at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED). 

The University Bookshop at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, serves as the primary hub for academic resources and stationeries. Since the institution's transition to a university, the bookshop has expanded its role to ensure that students and faculty have access to the specific texts required for degree-level programs.

The bookshop operates under the oversight of the University Management, often working closely with the Directorate of Audit to ensure transparency in its financial dealings.

1. Core Services

The bookshop is designed to be a one-stop shop for the university community:

• Textbooks & Course Materials: They stock recommended textbooks for all faculties, including Education, Arts, Sciences, and Social Sciences.

• Stationery: Essential items like notebooks, pens, drawing instruments for technical courses, and office supplies for staff.

• University Souvenirs: Often the primary source for university-branded items such as shirts, ties, mufflers, and official memorabilia.

• Custom Printing: In some cases, the bookshop facilitates the sale of department-specific manuals and laboratory handbooks.

2. Strategic Importance

The EAUED Bookshop is more than just a retail store; it plays a critical role in the academic ecosystem:

• Affordability: Because it deals directly with publishers and university authors, it often provides books at a lower rate than external vendors.

• Authenticity: It ensures that students are buying genuine, up-to-date editions of required texts, protecting them from pirated or outdated materials.

3. Location and Operations

The bookshop is centrally located on the Erelu Campus to be accessible to all students. During peak periods, such as the beginning of a new semester or during matriculation, the bookshop often extends its hours to accommodate the high volume of students purchasing registration materials and textbooks.

4. Integration with Financial Clearances

For many administrative processes at EAUED (like final year clearances), students may be required to show proof that they have no outstanding debts or that they have purchased mandatory institutional materials from the bookshop.
